What is AffiliateFYI.com?
In January 2012, I decided to move my old blog (UKPokerAffiliate.com) to a new domain AffiliateFYI.com as part of a strategy to increase traffic to my site, improve user navigation and hopefully monetise it.
My aim with AffiliateFYI.com is to create an interesting affiliate marketing resource for beginners and experienced affiliate; with news, reviews and guides on the best affiliate programs and SEO tools. I’ll also publish interviews from successful affiliates earning $100k+ per year.
My Affiliate Marketing Timeline
June 2009 – Started writing news and articles (including a bit of ghost writing) for some poker major affiliates. All of my revenue was coming from writing. Some of my work was even published on uk.pokernews.com. Overall I made around $2,000 in 2 months with a few hours work per day.
September 2009 – Started my first site MosesBet.com, My employer helped me set up my site for me and I signed up to a bunch of affiliate programs under him. This is still one of my biggest sites and is geared toward online poker tournament strategy. Not exactly a great domain but when I set up this site I really knew nothing about SEO or marketing at all.
February 2010 –Started earning around $100 – $200 per month through affiliating. Earned affiliate revenue from picking up a handful of real money poker players each month.
July 2010 – Successfully graduated from University with a 2:1. Started working on my poker websites full time right now as part of a “gap year”. Increased my earnings to around $500 per month, with a few additional sites outside poker.
October 2010 – Decided to start my affiliate blog. I had around 15 or so poker/bingo/sports betting websites in my network at this time, earning me around $1,000 per month in affiliate revenue. I Recently bought PokerBankrolls.org which should be a nice project.
February 2011 - Hit $2,000 per month in affiliate revenue.
March 2011 - Hit $3,000 per month.
July 2011 – Hit $5,000 per month and diversified into the finance and precious metals industry.
November 2011 - Expanded into the Forex and Banking industry, with a good amount of revenue now coming from my finance network.
